Cooking, is perhaps the most  understated of all arts. A dash of spices and vegetables… that is how a layman defines cooking. But, ask an expert, and he knows that cooking is more than just that. It’s an enterprise, an art which depends on number of factors. The time of cooking, the flow of heat, the quantity of water, spices, the pounding, the grinding… cooking is in fact, a wholesome process.

Baking, is perhaps one skill which gets overlooked, specifically in our country. Either people are not aware of it, or consider it as, a not so important trade. But, the fact of the matter is, baking, is a skill which is not only creative, but involves hard work, dexterity and of course, love for the art.

Let’s do a quick swot up on baking or the ‘art of cake making’ as a layman would call it. Baking is a process of cooking that involves dry heat, in an oven. The discovery of an oven dating some 6500 years old shows that baking is one skill that is perhaps as old as civilization.

In the biblical times normally honey and butter was added to bread to make it more scrumptious in taste. Who can forget Jesus having his last meal by breaking bread with his pupils?

There are number of bread making classes in cities like Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi etc. Bread baking too, is an old craft. In the modern times these baked breads are topped with icings and frostings to make it more delectable. One can find several cake decorating classes in cities like Hyderabad, Mumbai, Gurgaon etc. These institutes use some state of the art technology in Baking cakes and create  the most delicious bread in town.
